TROST & WOODIN and HOLLOWAY & MEYERHOEFFER ARE  2024 TAYLORMADE RMSPGA PRO-PRO SHOOTOUT CHAMPIONS

Mother Nature never disappoints in Idaho Falls and this year was no exception.  You name it, we had it… Wind, cold, sunshine, hail, sleet, lightning and the thunder that goes with it was all in the mix over the 54-hole 2024 RMSPGA TaylorMade Pro-Pro Shootout presented by JC Golf Accessories and Levelwear, and supported by Bushnell Golf, Maui Jim, ROLEX and The PGA TOUR.  In the end, assistant professionals Caleb Trost from Laurel Golf Club in Laurel, Montana, and Garrett Woodin from Hilands Golf Club in Billings, Montana, outlasted four other teams who all fired 3-round totals of 15-under-par, a mere single shot behind the newly minted champions.  Trost and Woodin threw up rounds of 61-67-66=194 for a 16-under-par total which was just good enough to capture the hardware.

On the Senior side, the battle was just as close.  The PGA Professional team of Tad Holloway from TimberStone GC in Caldwell, Idaho, and his partner Steve Meyerhoeffer from Twin Falls (Idaho) Municipal GC ground out rounds of 61-66-69=196 for a 14-under-par total, one clear of two other teams.  This winning duo is not new to the winner’s circle, having partnered before quite successfully over the years.

The first two rounds of the 54-hole Shootout were played on Monday, May 20th, and the formats were a Scramble followed by Four-Ball Stroke Play. The final round concluded on Tuesday, May 21st, and the format was Modified Alternate Shot.  50 two-person professional teams competed in regular and senior divisions from the Rocky Mountain Section PGA for a purse of $27,400.  This year’s venue was Pinecrest Golf Course in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA would like to sincerely thank John Johnson, Territory Sales Manager of TaylorMade for the Title sponsorship. Appreciation is also extended to presenting sponsors JC Golf Accessories and Levelwear sales representative Andy Hollister, PGA, and supporting sponsors Bushnell Golf representative Charley Carlson, Maui Jim, ROLEX and The PGA TOUR for supporting this event. The Rocky Mountain PGA sincerely thanks host PGA Professional Tim Reinke, his always hospitable staff, and the city of Idaho Falls for hosting the championship.
