Canyon Springs Squad Takes the Title
The 2022 National Car Rental Rocky Mountain PGA Jr. League Section Championship was contested at Pinecrest Golf Course in Idaho Falls, ID, on August 12th and it was clear the players were primed for great competition on a toasty day… Congratulations goes out to the All-Stars from Canyon Springs Golf Course in Twin Falls, ID, as they showed wonderful consistency up and down their line-up of four, 2-player scramble teams.
Wyatt Williams, Troup Wilson, Ellyce Simmons, Liam Williams, Korben Kowitz, Carson Lott, Danika Humphries and Lucy Haddock paired up and fired 9-hole scramble rounds of 33-34-33-34 to win the championship by 10 shots over the All-Star team from Boise, ID, and 12 shots clear of the Billings, MT, All-Stars. The three best scores of four counted toward the team total to determine the medalists.
The Canyon Springs team, lead by PGA Coach Zach Abels, now gets to move on to a Regional competition which will be held at their home course. Congratulations goes out to PGA Coach Robert Holmes and the accomplishments of the Boise team, in addition to PGA Coach Evan Neihaus and the great play of the Billings team in making it to the PGA Jr. League Section Championship. Thanks also is important to send to PGA Host Professionals Tim Reinke, Sean Thomsen, and the City of Idaho Falls for their hospitality at Pinecrest Golf Course.
