PGA PROFESSIONALS AND AMATEURS RAISE $9,000 FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AT ANNUAL PRO-AM

Adam Martens, PGA Director of Golf at The Club at SpurWing in Meridian, Idaho, shot a 2-under-par round of 69 to win this year’s Rocky Mountain Section PGA Foundation Larry Malone Scholarship Pro-Am.  Marten’s team of amateur players Chris Larsen, Andrew Stith and Brad Duke rode his fine play en-route to capturing the team title as well with their one gross ball/one net ball total of 14-under-par, 142.  In the senior division, Todd Bindner, PGA Head Professional also at The Club at SpurWing, shot his own round of 2-under-par, 69, to capture first place honors.

This was the 45th playing of this long-standing charity event which was conducted at the 6,880 yard, par 71, Hillcrest Country Club in Boise, Idaho, on Monday, April 15, 2019.

The Malone family, The Rocky Mountain Section PGA and The Rocky Mountain Section PGA Foundation wish to sincerely thank head golf professional Brett Kleinkopf, PGA, and the rest of the Hillcrest Country Club staff for their always gracious hospitality.

Since 1974, the Rocky Mountain PGA and generous sponsors have teamed up to raise more than $268,000 in scholarship funds for junior golfers.  This scholarship program started in memory of Larry Malone who had a successful golf career at Twin Falls High School and Weber State University.  Mr. Malone succumbed to cancer in 1974, and for 45 years local PGA Professionals, amateurs, friends and family have gathered to remember this young man and his love of the game.
