PGA Associate Professionals Preston Nelson and Conner Lee from Jerome (Idaho) Country Club took on 18 other Rocky Mountain Section PGA professional teams and fearlessly ground out a single-shot victory over 36-holes to take the winner’s share at the 2021 RMSPGA Fall Pro-Pro presented by Cobra/Puma golf. With efforts of 68 and 67, their two-round total of 9-under-par, 135, bested PGA Assistant Professional Tyson Bowen from Sage Lakes Golf Course in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and his partner, PGA Associate Professional Travis Hackett from the host club, and the team of PGA Professional Nick Blasius, Executive Director of First Tee Idaho, and his partner, PGA Head Professional Zach Abels from Canyon Springs Golf Course in Twin Falls, Idaho.
The senior division saw PGA Head Professional Tad Holloway from Timberstone Golf Course in Caldwell, Idaho, and his partner Steve Meyerhoeffer, PGA General Manager from Twin Falls (Idaho) Municipal Golf Course, repeat as champions just edging out the duo of PGA Head Professional John Graham from Sand Creek Golf Course in Idaho Falls, with his partner PGA Life Member Rob Ellis from Garden City, Idaho, by a single shot, shooting rounds of 68-74=142, finishing 2-under-par to take first place honors.
Conditions were truly spectacular both days of the RMSPGA Fall Pro-Pro presented by Cobra/Puma Golf and representative Darrin Vaughan, PGA, and supported by Chris Jenkins of JC Golf Accessories, Mike Langley of Dynamic Brands, and ROLEX and The PGA TOUR.
The two-round format (Better Ball of Partners in round 1 and Modified Alternate Shot for round 2) was contested at the par 72, 6,720-yard Idaho Falls Country Club in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on October 4-5, 2021.
