SNELLING SETS RECORDS
The only thing hotter than the temperature outside was the 2022 National Car Rental Rocky Mountain Section PGA Assistant Professional Championship winner… Justin Snelling, PGA Assistant Professional at Boise (Idaho) Ranch Golf Course absolutely blistered Blackfoot (Idaho) Golf Course matching the tournament record low round of 8-under-par, 64, in round one. He didn’t get hot until the second round however. The thermometer said 102 degrees and Snelling’s final round left the field wondering what he ate for lunch… 60. 31 on the front and 29 on the back… That right there is 12-under-par in one round of golf. Snelling finished at 20-under-par for 36 holes and won the tournament by a mere 16 shots. Three-time champion, Cole Lorenz, PGA Assistant Professional from The Valley Club in Sun Valley, Idaho, fired matching rounds of 2-under-par, 70, to finish second alone and earn the other qualifying spot in to the 2022 National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship to be played at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, in November.
The 2022 National Car Rental RMSPGA Assistant Professional Championship supported by Srixon | Cleveland Golf | XXIO | Asics, ROLEX, and The PGA TOUR was contested at Blackfoot Municipal Golf Course on Wednesday, July 27th.
