Canyon Springs Squad of PGA Jr. Leaguers Captures Section Championship
The 2023 National Car Rental Rocky Mountain PGA Jr. League All-Stars Section Championship was held on August 11th and this year’s medalists are from Canyon Springs Golf Course in Twin Falls, Idaho. The dominant team of 10 to 13-year-old champs including Wyatt Williams, Korben Kowitz, Liam Williams, Carson Lott, Troup Wilson, Caleb Visser, Lucy Haddock and Ledger Lott played nearly flawless golf in capturing the 2023 championship. The format called for 4 pairs of scramble teams for the 9-hole competition. The best 3 scores of the 4 made the team total. Their 12-under-par total of 90 strokes beat the next two teams by an impressive 10 shots earning them the section championship hardware. Teams from Ridgecrest Golf Course in Nampa, Idaho, Blue Lakes CC in Twin Falls, Idaho, and a mixed Treasure Valley squad were the other teams vying for a spot to the regional competition coming up in Twin Falls later this year.
The Rocky Mountain Section PGA wishes to spread some thanks to Twin Falls Municipal Golf Club and Host PGA Professional Steve Meyerhoeffer and his staff for their terrific hospitality and support of the event. We also want to thank National Car Rental for their continued sponsorship and PGA Professional Coaches Luke Sestero from Crane Creek CC in Boise, Idaho, Alex Nixon, from Blue Lakes CC in Twin Falls, Idaho, Scott Nicholes from Ridgecrest GC in Nampa, Idaho, and Zach Abels from Canyon Springs’ championship squad.
