McGEACHIN & EMPEY EARN 2022 RMSPGA SNAKE RIVER CHAPTER FACILITY CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

Mother Nature had no interest in making this day a pleasure to be outside for the 20 two-player professional teams teeing it up in the 2022 RMSPGA Snake River Chapter Facility Championship supported by Bridgestone, ROLEX & The PGA TOUR.  36 holes later, PGA Professionals Scott McGeachin and Jim Empey hung on for dear life to capture the title by a single shot weathering a double bogey final hole.  McGeachin and Empey took home the winner’s share and the hardware defending their turf at the host venue, Quail Hollow Golf Club in Boise, Idaho.

Three teams tied for second place, and as bad as the weather was, they were probably pretty happy to not get in to a four-way playoff that might still be going on!  Assistant professionals at Twin Falls (Idaho) Municipal Golf Course Zayne Slotten and Brady Nelson, PGA Head Professional Brett Kleinkopf and his assistant Taylor Judy from Hillcrest Country Club in Boise, Idaho, and defending champion assistant professionals Conner Lee and Preston Nelson from Jerome (Idaho) Country Club fell just short finishing one shot off the pace.  The rest of the field was closely bunched in pursuit of the title and the complete results are available at rockymountainpga.com.

The single day 36-hole Championship was contested Monday, April 4, 2022, at the aforementioned par 70 layout at Quail Hollow Golf Club.  The first round was a better ball of partners and the second round was a modified alternate shot (Chapman) format.  Both players on each two-person team must be employed at the same facility.

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA wishes to thank host PGA professional Matt Ennis and his staff members from Quail Hollow for hosting the event.  A sincere thank you goes out to supporting sponsor Matt Seare from Bridgestone Golf.  Appreciation is also extended to ROLEX and The PGA TOUR for their continued support of selected RMSPGA events.
