Martinson Captures 2026 Yellowstone Chapter Championship
Martinson’s opening 66 sets the pace before he edges Chris Lien in a one-hole playoff at Kendrick Municipal Golf Course
SHERIDAN, WY. — Dane Martinson, PGA Head Professional of EagleRock Golf Course captured the 2026 Yellowstone Chapter Championship, completed Tuesday at Kendrick Municipal Golf Course in Sheridan, Wyoming. Martinson and Chris Lien, PGA, Assistant Professional at Yellowstone Country Club, finished the 36-hole stroke-play championship tied at 7-under 137, and Martinson won a one-hole playoff on the 14th hole, making a 4 to Lien’s 5.
Martinson set the pace from the opening tee shot, carding a 6-under 66 on Monday to build a three-stroke lead over Lien. He followed with a 1-under 71 in the second round for a 36-hole total of 137, 7 under par. Lien mounted a second-round charge after an opening 69, posting a 4-under 68 on Tuesday, tied for the low round of the day, to match Martinson’s total and force the playoff.
Garrett Woodin, Assistant Professional of Hilands Golf Club finished alone in third at 6-under 138, one stroke off the pace. Woodin opened with a 70 before matching Lien’s 68 for the low round on Tuesday. Tom Conway, PGA Head Professional of Big Sky Resort Golf Club, Liam O’Halloran, Assistant Professional of Laurel Golf Club and Bryce Reed, Assistant Professional of Lake Hills Golf Club tied for fourth at 1-under 143. Conway and O’Halloran each posted rounds of 74 and 69, while Reed carded a 73 and a 70.
Tom Anderson, PGA of Laurel Golf Club claimed seventh at 2-over 146 with rounds of 72 and 74. Josh Waldo, Assistant Professional of Bridger Creek Golf Course rebounded from an opening 79 with a 3-under 69 on Tuesday to finish eighth at 4-over 148. Ted Babcock, PGA Director of Golf of Valley View Country Club and J.J. Jaster, PGA Head Professional of Laurel Golf Club rounded out the top 10, tying for ninth at 5-over 149.
