PGA Professional Steve Schneiter owns Idaho Open Senior Champion Crown…
2013 Boise State University graduate TK Kim took care of business this week carving out rounds of 63-63-70=196, a 14-under-par total, to hoist the blue crystal beating Camron Saunders from Willard, Utah, and Chris Trunzer from Kelowna, British Columbia, by 4 strokes.
Champion TK Kim – Low Amateur Bridger Holmes
On the Senior side, the ageless PGA Professional Steve Schneiter, from Sandy, Utah, capitalized on a brilliant second round 63, only 3 shots shy of his age, to parlay his 69 and 67 in to a 6-shot win. Schneiter’s 11-under-par total of 199 left PGA Teaching Professional Jim Empey, from The Valley Club, in Sun Valley, Idaho, with second place honors 5-shots behind, and PGA Professional Jeff Marsh, from Vancouver, Washington, in 3rd alone with a 2-under-par total of 208.
Senior Champion Steve Schneiter – Low Senior Amateur Ed O’Brien
The amateurs had a say as well in this year’s Idaho Open. Bridger Holmes, from Tooele, Utah, put together rounds of 66-71-68=205, to win the low amateur honor by 3 strokes over Boise, Idaho’s Reid Piron. Ed O’Brien of Boise, Idaho, hoisted his blue crystal as the Idaho Open’s Senior Amateur Champion for 2024 besting Jeff Ward from Meridian, Idaho by 6 shots.
