Dunn – Jensen – Connell – Moltich are Gallatin Jr. Champs!

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA Foundation Gallatin Valley Junior Championship was contested July 24-25, 2024, at Bridger Creek Golf Course in Bozeman, Montana, and all four divisions were competitive affairs.

The Boys’ 15-18 year-old division saw Houston Dunn from Livingston, MT, take the gold medal by a single stroke with fine rounds of 70-73=143.  Landon Olson from Columbus, MT, and Bjorn Lindquist from Alta, WY, were only one stroke behind after the 36-hole competition.

The Girls’ 15-18 year-old crew saw exceptional play from champion Kira Connell from Bozeman, MT, who fired rounds of 75-70=145, which gave her a 4-shot win over Billings, MT, resident Rebecca Washington, and 10 strokes clear of Bozeman’s Lindsay Cook who was solo third.

The Girls’ 14 & Unders found Maddi Moltich from Sheridan, MT, as their gold medalist after her smooth display of 76-79=155 earned her a 5-shot victory over Clare Jensen from Billings, MT, and alone in third was Cecilia Fornshell also from Billings.

The Boys’ 14 & Under squad featured tournament low scores from champion Colin Jensen from Billings, MT, whose spectacular 69-68=137 was 3 shots clear of Sawyer Gentry from Livingston, MT, and his younger brother Stuart Gentry who earned solo third place honors.

The Foundation wishes  to thank host PGA Professionals Mark Holiday and Jon McAleer from Bridger Creek GC for their annual efforts in making this event a fun and competitive championship.
