SINGPRASEUTH & YUN VICTORIOUS – MONTOYA AND McARTHUR ALSO ADVANCE

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA Boys and Girls Jr. Championships are in the books and the Section’s best are off to the Junior PGA Championships.

Congratulations go out to 15-year-old Chloe Singpraseuth of Meridian, Idaho, as she outlasted 17-year-old Maddie Montoya from Boise, Idaho, in a playoff to take the honors in the 2022 Rocky Mountain PGA Girls Junior Championship.  Her twin rounds of 71put her in the playoff at 2-under-par for the tournament and her par on the 1st playoff hole was good enough for victory.  By virtue of their excellent play, Chloe and Maddie earned spots in to the 46th Girls PGA Junior Championship being contested at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Illinois this August.

Ashton McArthur – Maddie Montoya – Chloe Singpraseuth – Eric Yun

Kudos are also in order to McCall, Idaho’s 16-year-old boys’ champion Eric Yun.  He also needed a playoff to win as his fantastic rounds of 66 and 67 earned him a tie with 17-year-old Ashton McArthur from Rexburg, Idaho, who posted an equal performance of 11-under-par, 133, with rounds of 68 and 65.  Yun played the first playoff hole perfectly making birdie and capturing the Boys Jr. Section Championship honor for 2022.  Both Eric and Ashton cemented their spots in to the 46th Boys Junior PGA Championship also being contested at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club.

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA wishes to thank the city of Nampa, Idaho, and host facility Centennial Golf Course and their helpful, willing and hospitable crew for hosting the 2022 Rocky Mountain Section PGA Junior Championship.
