NATHAN FERRELL VICTORIOUS AT 2021 ROCKY MOUNTAIN SECTION PGA PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Nathan Ferrell, PGA Head Professional at Kendrick Municipal Golf Course in Sheridan, Wyoming, ground out a one-under-par final round of 71 to finish one shot clear of Justin Snelling, PGA Head Professional at The River Club in Boise, Idaho, to capture the 2021 RMSPGA Professional Championship/Section Championship presented by Cadillac, Club Car & ROLEX.  Ferrell’s two-day total of 71-71=142, 2-under-par, was a testament to patience on blazing fast putting surfaces at the immaculate and challenging Shooting Star of Jackson Hole in Teton Village, Wyoming.  Tied for third place, both at even par were PGA Professionals Ben Polland from Jackson, Wyoming, and Grayson Arellano from Moreno Valley, California.  Their fine play earned them all qualifying spots in to the 2022 PGA Professional Championship.

This year’s Section Championship was contested over 36-holes at the par 72, 7,633 yard layout at the aforementioned Shooting Star of Jackson Hole.  Fifty-eight Rocky Mountain Section PGA Professionals played for four qualifying spots in to the 2022 PGA Professional Championship to be contested next April at Omni Barton Creek in Austin, Texas.

The Rocky Mountain PGA would like to thank Cadillac, Club Car, and ROLEX for their sponsorship of the Section Championship. Appreciation is also extended to sales representatives Phil Deimling and Steve Lenett from Titleist/FootJoy, territory manager John Johnson from TaylorMade Golf, Nike, Golf Channel and The PGA TOUR.  The Section is appreciative of the efforts of the staff at Shooting Star especially Host PGA Professional Wes Roberts.  Additional gratitude needs to be expressed to the membership of Shooting Star for allowing us to play at their fabulous venue and Superintendent Tyler Shrum for providing us with truly world-class course conditions.
