Mother Nature had no interest in making this day a pleasure to be outside for the 19 two-player professional teams teeing it up in the 2021 RMSPGA Snake River Chapter Facility Championship. 39 holes later, Conner Lee and his partner Preston Nelson made the only birdie of the day on the 18th hole to capture the title. Lee and Nelson took home the winner’s share and the hardware back to Jerome (Idaho) Country Club where they are assistant professionals. PGA Head Professional, Mike Hamblin and his PGA Assistant Professional Alex Nixon from Blue Lakes Country Club in Twin Falls, Idaho, and the PGA Professional duo of Todd Bindner and Brett Nagel from The Club at SpurWing in Meridian, Idaho, just fell short in a playoff that lasted 3 holes.
The single day 36-hole Championship was contested Monday, April 5, 2021, at the 7,089 yard, par 72 layout at Falcon Crest Golf Club in Kuna, Idaho. The first round was a better ball of partners and the second round was a modified alternate shot (Chapman) format. Both players on each two-person team must be employed at the same facility.
The Rocky Mountain Section PGA wishes to thank PGA Head Professional Ryan Nielson (pictured top right) and his staff members from Falcon Crest Golf Club for hosting the event. A sincere thank you goes out to supporting sponsors Matt Seare and Tim Walsh from Bridgestone Golf. Appreciation is also extended to Rolex and The PGA TOUR for their continued support of selected RMSPGA events.
