DILLON AND TROST BETTER THAN THE REST AT YELLOWSTONE CHAPTER PGA PRO-PRO
Chad Dillon, PGA Head Professional at Yellowstone Country Club in Billings, Mont., and assistant professional Caleb Trost, from Laurel Golf Club, in Laurel, Mont., won their respective flights and took home the winner’s share in the 2025 Yellowstone Chapter PGA Pro-Pro, supported by Bridgestone Golf, Maui Jim, ROLEX and The PGA TOUR.
The event was contested at the 6,168 yard Hilands Golf Club in Billings, Mont., on Monday and Tuesday, April 21st and 22nd. The format of play for the event was a scramble the first 18 holes, four-ball stroke play the second 18 holes, and modified alternate shot (Chapman) the final 18 holes. Teams were formed from two flights for each round and the scores earned by each player were combined to create their three-round total to determine the two champions. Dillon eked out a single-shot victory over Exchange City GC’s PGA Head Professional, Matt Stricker, and was three shots clear of EagleRock GC’s PGA Head Professional, Dane Martinson. Trost repeated his dominant performance from last year with a convincing 8-shot victory. Alone in second place was assistant professional Garrett Woodin from the host club, Hilands GC, and the third place finisher was Briarwood GC’s PGA Head Professional Deven Doughty, 12 shots off the champion’s total.
The PGA Members and Associates of the Yellowstone Chapter thank Eddie Kavran, PGA Head Professional, Bryce Finnman, PGA General Manager, and the Hilands Golf Club and its staff for hosting the event. The Chapter also thanks Bridgestone Golf and representative Matt Seare, and the kind folks at Maui Jim, ROLEX and The PGA TOUR for their support of the event.
