THE WEATHER WAS THE WINNER AFTER DAY ONE OF THE 2019 TAYLORMADE RMSPGA PRO-PRO SHOOTOUT

It was cold and it was wet… really wet… on the first day of the 2019 TaylorMade Rocky Mountain Section PGA Pro-Pro Shootout presented by adidas Golf and supported by The PGA TOUR, OMEGA, Bushnell and JC Golf Accessories.  The players used every piece of inclement weather gear in their possession to fight the conditions and Jason Jacobsen, PGA Head Professional at Idaho Falls (Idaho) Country Club with his partner Ryan Nielson, PGA Head Professional at Falcon Crest Golf Club in Kuna, Idaho, stood alone after the first two rounds shooting impressive rounds of 65 and 62 to take a 3-shot lead going in to Tuesday’s final round.

In the Senior Division, Chad Watson, PGA Head Professional at Boise (Idaho) Ranch Golf Course with his partner Tad Holloway, PGA Head Professional at Timberstone Golf Course in Caldwell, Idaho, ground out excellent rounds of 68 and 63 to hold a single shot lead over two other teams.

The first two rounds of the 54-hole Shootout were played on Monday, May 20th and the formats were four-ball stroke play and scramble. The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21st and the format will be a modified alternate shot.  Forty 2-person professional teams are competing from the Rocky Mountain Section PGA for a purse of $23,500.

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA would like to thank John Johnson, Territory Sales Manager of TaylorMade for the Title sponsorship. Appreciation is also extended to presenting sponsor Jeff Smith from adidas Golf, and supporting sponsors Bushnell Golf representative Charley Carlson, Chris Jenkins of JC Golf Accessories, The PGA TOUR and OMEGA for supporting this event. The Rocky Mountain PGA also thanks host PGA Professional Tim Reinke, his hospitable staff, and the city of Idaho Falls for hosting the championship at the venerable Pinecrest Golf Course in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
