POLLAND’S HOT YEAR CONTINUES WITH SECTION CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
The 2024 PGA Professional National Champion, Ben Polland, the PGA Director of Golf at Shooting Star of Jackson Hole in Teton Village, Wyoming, continued his amazing 2024 playing campaign with a Section Championship title. Fiery greens and challenging conditions didn’t slow Polland down at the 2024 Rocky Mountain PGA Professional/Section Championship presented by Club Car, Corebridge Financial, and ROLEX, with supporting partners Gallagher, Golf Channel, and the PGA TOUR, and supported by Titleist/FootJoy, Callaway, Nike, and TaylorMade. At the end of 36 holes, Ben outlasted the field by a single shot.
Polland’s rounds of 68-72=140, 4-under-par, were just good enough as he nipped Jon McLean, the PGA Director of Instruction at The Club at 3 Creek in Jackson, Wyoming, by one. The 2024 Rocky Mountain PGA Assistant Professional Champion, Zayne Slotten, PGA Assistant Professional at Twin Falls (Idaho) Municipal Golf Course, also continued his excellent play with a third-place finish 3-shots behind. Solo fourth went to Justin Snelling, PGA Assistant Professional at Boise (Idaho) Ranch Golf Course, and the fifth-place spot was captured by PGA Director of Golf from the aforementioned Club at 3 Creek, Paul-David Milton. The second through fifth place finishers above have qualified, by virtue of this finish, for the 2025 PGA Professional Championship next April at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Mr. Polland was already exempt due to being the defending champion.
The 2024 RMSPGA Championship was contested at Bronze Buffalo Ranch in Victor, Idaho, on August 27th and 28th.
