DOUG HAGEN HONORED WITH 2021 RMSPGA PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD

PGA Professional Doug Hagen of Bozeman, Montana, has been selected by the Rocky Mountain Section PGA as the 2021 recipient of the Professional Development Award.  Hagen, a member now for 15 years in The PGA of America, has been honored as such to recognize his extraordinary contributions and achievements in the area of Professional Development. This honor is presented to a PGA member for his outstanding contributions to professional education.

As the PGA General Manager at Riverside Country Club in Bozeman, Montana, Hagan continues to seek ways to prepare himself and other professionals for the future.  Doug is a firm believer in education of all aspects of the golf business and requires those in his employ either be Associates or Class “A” PGA Professionals.  In addition, he heavily encourages participation of his staff in as many leadership roles as possible.  During his tenure, he has employed PGA Professionals who have served at every level of Chapter and Section Boards.

Hagan has served on the Education Committee since 2017.  During this span, he has organized countless hours of Yellowstone Chapter education covering a wide variety of topics.  Doug develops open-to-buy and budgeting templates, in addition to leadership documents designed to provide his professional staff with more efficient ways to handle their business more effectively.  As Hagan continues his own education, he constantly updates training documents for club management systems, phone systems, website editing, and email marketing, to name a few.

This is the first time Hagan has been honored with a Section award and he will be formally recognized as the 2021 Rocky Mountain Section PGA Professional Development Award winner in May of 2022 during the RMSPGA Annual Meeting and Honors and Awards ceremony.
