DUSTIN AMES HONORED WITH 2023 ROCKY MOUNTAIN SECTION PGA PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD

PGA Professional Dustin Ames from McCall, Idaho, has been selected by the Rocky Mountain Section PGA as the 2023 recipient of the Professional Development Award.  Ames, a member now for 12 years in The PGA of America, has been honored as such to recognize his extraordinary contributions and achievements in the area of Professional Development. This honor is presented to a PGA member for his outstanding contributions to professional education.

As the PGA Head Professional at Jug Mountain Ranch in McCall, Idaho, Ames continues to seek ways to prepare himself and other professionals for the future.  Dustin is a firm believer in giving back to his profession as shown by his volunteer efforts throughout his career.  He tries to lead by example whether behind the counter, on the course, or in his personal life.  During his tenure, he has employed at least six professionals he has directly mentored who have moved forward with their careers in the golf industry.

Ames has served on the education committee in the Section since 2011.  During this span, he has organized countless hours of Chapter education covering a wide variety of topics.  In addition, Dustin is now currently serving on the National Education Committee and is fully engaged looking forward to continued service.  Ames’ dedication to his facility, his Chapter, his Section and the national body of the PGA of America is admirable and so very worthy of this distinguished honor.

This is the third time Ames has been honored with this award to go along with three Public Merchandiser of the Year awards.  He will be formally recognized as the 2023 Rocky Mountain Section PGA Professional Development Award winner in May of 2024 during the RMSPGA Annual Meeting and Honors and Awards ceremony.
