DUSTIN AMES HONORED WITH 2024 ROCKY MOUNTAIN SECTION PGA
BILL STRAUSBAUGH AWARD
Dustin Ames, the PGA Head Professional at Jug Mountain Ranch in McCall, Idaho, has been selected by the Rocky Mountain Section PGA as the 2024 recipient of the Bill Strausbaugh Award. Ames, a 13-year member of The PGA of America, is being honored with this award for the first time as a member of the Rocky Mountain Section.
In addition to earning this accolade, Dustin was honored with the Professional Development Award in 2023, three Resort Merchandiser of the Year Awards (2015, 2020, 2022), and two Horton Smith Awards (2013 & 2015). Established in 1979, the Bill Strausbaugh Award is presented to a PGA Professional who, by their day-to-day efforts, has distinguished themselves by mentoring fellow PGA Professionals in improving their employment situations and through service to their community.
As a golf professional, Dustin has mentored six professionals who have moved forward with careers in our industry. He makes it his personal mission to continually educate others about the game, the PGA Program, and guide his employees to positively influence the golf world into the future. One of Dustin’s keys to success is his willingness to educate his own club’s owners as to the true value of PGA Professionals and the benefit they provide to the facility. Ames is the complete package. He is dedicated to his family, his work, his colleagues, and his association. Dustin takes great pride in inspiring fellow PGA Professionals through his high standards, professionalism, and willingness to share with anyone interested in learning through his experience. Dustin Ames is a respected professional, and our Section is proud to have him as a distinguished Bill Strausbaugh Award winner.
Ames will be formally recognized as the 2024 RMSPGA Bill Strausbaugh Award winner at the Annual Meeting and Honors and Awards Presentation this May.
