DOUG HAGEN HONORED WITH ROCKY MOUNTAIN SECTION PGA
BILL STRAUSBAUGH AWARD
Doug Hagen, the PGA General Manager at Riverside Country Club in Bozeman, Montana, has been selected by the Rocky Mountain Section PGA as the 2023 recipient of the Bill Strausbaugh Award. Hagen, a 17-year member of The PGA of America, is being honored with this award for the first time as a member of the Rocky Mountain Section. In addition to earning this accolade, Doug was honored with the Professional Development Award in 2021. Established in 1979, the Bill Strausbaugh Award is presented to a PGA Professional who, by their day-to-day efforts, has distinguished themselves by mentoring their fellow PGA Professionals in improving their employment situations and through service to their community.
As a golf professional, Doug recognized the need early in his career to learn from other respected professionals. Now that he has nearly two decades of experience, he has earned the respect of so many, and he loves to give back. Hagen is an open book of knowledge. Any other professional seeking advice is going to get a plethora of information and all the assistance Doug can provide. He has always been an advocate of hiring assistant professionals with an interest in becoming PGA Members. Hagen is the complete package. He is dedicated to his family, his work, his colleagues, and his association. Doug Hagen is a highly respected professional, especially in the state of Montana, and our Section is proud to have him as a distinguished Bill Strausbaugh Award winner.
Doug will be formally recognized as the 2023 RMSPGA Bill Strausbaugh Award winner at the 2024 Annual Meeting and Honors and Awards Presentation next May.
