Yellowstone Jr. Championship Crowns 2021 Winners
The Rocky Mountain Section PGA Foundation Yellowstone Jr. Championship took place at Lake Hills Golf Club in Billings, MT, the end of June and hot weather made for some even hotter scoring. The boys aged 15-18 saw a first-round tournament low, 6-under-par, 66 from Bozeman, Montana’s 17-year-old Ramey Lloyd. He followed that up with a scrappy 75 to earn the title 9 shots clear of Tye Boone, 15, from Billings, MT.
In the girls’ 15-18-year-old division, Ramey’s little sister Addily, 15, fired a second-round girls’ tournament low of 75 to run away from the rest of the field to capture the title. Lloyd’s 2-round total of 156 was good enough for a 9-shot victory over Hanna Adams, 17, and Meilyn Armstrong, 18, both from Billings, MT.
The boys’ 14 & under division was the closest-knit affair. 14-year-old Aubrey Kelley from Emigrant, MT, was a perfect picture of consistency shooting matching rounds of even-par, 72, to outlast Samuel Norman, 14, from Laurel, MT, who finished only 3 shots back with rounds of 74 & 73. The girls’ 14 & under saw steady rounds from Rebecca Washington, 14, from Billings, MT, to win the 1st place honors by 9 shots over Big Sky, Montana’s Cate Leydig, 13.
The RMSPGA Foundation would like to thank host PGA Professional Renzi Lee and his staff for their always fabulous hospitality and generous support of this annual championship.
