RYAN TROXEL HONORED AS 2022 RMSPGA GOLF PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA has named PGA Member Ryan Troxel from Belgrade, Montana, its 2022 Golf Professional of the Year.  This award not only stamps Ryan’s excellence as a complete professional in 2022, but is also representative of the last decade of his service to the Rocky Mountain Section. Troxel was elected to membership in the PGA of America in 2012 and has served as the Head Golf Professional at Riverside Country Club in Bozeman, Montana, since 2019.

The PGA Golf Professional of the Year Award is the highest honor paid to any PGA professional.  The honoree is chosen based on his or her outstanding leadership abilities, exceptional performance as a PGA Professional, and distinguished service to that person’s Chapter, Section, Association, and the game of golf.

The love for the game has been the driving force behind Ryan’s success.  He enjoys how many hats he must wear on a daily basis, and as a servant at heart, he constantly strives to provide excellent service to his guests.  No matter the age group, Ryan strives to push those around him in to finding ways to grow the game of golf through their enjoyment.

Expanding junior golf programs is a major focus for Ryan and throughout his career, he has either implemented or reinforced strong junior offerings at each course he has served.  He is proud of the current program he is responsible for having seen it multiply from 15 children to a now robust 75+ kids in just a few seasons.  Ryan knows the future of the game relies upon engaged junior players who become avid lifetime golfers.  Over the years he has supported PGA Golf Academy, PGA Jr. League, and high school golf as a coach.  In addition, Ryan has taught kids of all ages using various programs and has raised money to support these programs with the help of the Montana State Golf Association.  There is nothing more rewarding for Ryan than following a student of his, years later, succeeding at the game.

Troxel has had the opportunity to work at many different types of facilities giving him a terrific understanding of the day-to-day concerns and responsibilities each of these elements presents.  He uses this knowledge constantly whether he is dealing with those in his employ or as a guide to the Section Board which he has led the last 2 years.  Ryan has had the opportunity to learn from some truly great leaders in the golf business and he has made a concerted effort to continue to learn from those he respects so that he may never stop improving as a manager of people and the business of golf.

The RMSPGA congratulates Ryan Troxel on this well-deserved honor, and he will be formally recognized as the 2022 Rocky Mountain Section PGA Golf Professional of the Year in May as part of the 2023 Annual Meeting and Awards Presentation.
