KINSINGER / SMITH and RIEBER / VAN VLEET ARE RMSPGA FALL PRO-PRO CHAMPIONS
The final team event of the year has been played and two newly minted teams have hoisted the trophies to capture their respective division’s title at the 2025 RMSPGA Fall Pro-Pro presented by Cobra/Puma Golf.
John Van Vleet / Lance Rieber – Cory Kinsinger / Spencer Smith
The regular division had a brood of teams in contention with Shooting Star of Jackson Hole PGA Professionals Spencer Smith and Cory Kinsinger outlasting the field by two-shots. Their fine rounds of 67-69=136, nipped three teams chasing them. Tied for second place were PGA Professional Renzi Lee with his partner Liam O’Halloran from Lake Hills GC in Billings, MT, the PGA Professionals brothers Brandon and Preston Otte (Brandon from Canyon Springs GC in Twin Falls, ID, and Preston from Bronze Buffalo Sporting Club in Victor, ID), and Alexandra Quihuis with her partner PGA Professional Cameron Gonzales, both assistant professionals at The Valley Club in Sun Valley, ID. Each of these teams had two-round totals of 138 to share their chunk of the $14,000 purse.
The senior division saw PGA Professionals John Van Vleet (Preston (ID) Golf & CC) and Lance Rieber (Warm Springs GC in Boise, ID) hold on to their first round lead to finish a single shot clear of the hard charging second place duo of PGA Professional Matt Gibbens and his partner Chris Hoggan from Olive Glenn Golf & CC in Cody, WY. Van Vleet and Rieber’s matching 69’s prevailed despite a brilliant final round of 66 from their pursuers.
Despite a rather sketchy weather forecast for the second day, Conditions were absolutely perfect for the RMSPGA Fall Pro-Pro presented by Cobra/Puma Golf and representative Darrin Vaughan, PGA, and supported by E-Z-GO, Charley Carlson of JC Golf Accessories, Mike Langley of Dynamic Brands, Sterling Cut Glass, Maui Jim, ROLEX and The PGA TOUR.
The two-round format (Better Ball of Partners in round 1 and Modified Alternate Shot for round 2) was contested at the par 72, 6,720-yard Idaho Falls Country Club in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on September 29-30, 2025. The Rocky Mountain Section PGA would like to extend its thanks to the members at IFCC, Jason Jacobsen, PGA General Manager, Travis Hackett, PGA Head Professional, and the always hospitable crew at Idaho Falls Country Club for hosting the event, providing wonderful course conditions and for the care shown to the competitors. The Section also extends its sincerest appreciation to the aforementioned sponsors for their kind and always generous support of the RMSPGA Fall Pro-Pro.
