KELBI LEE VICTORIOUS AT 2019 ROCKY MOUNTAIN SECTION PGA PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Kelbi Lee, PGA Head Professional at Black Bull in Bozeman, Mont., ground out an even-par final round of 72 to finish one shot clear of Zach Abels, PGA Head Professional at Canyon Springs Golf Course in Twin Falls, Idaho, to capture the 2019 RMSPGA Professional Championship/Section Championship presented by Cadillac, Club Car & OMEGA. Lee’s two-day total of 71-72=143, 1-under-par, was a testament to patience on very fast putting surfaces at the beautiful and challenging Teton Springs Resort & Club in Victor, Idaho. Alone in third place, three shots off the winner, was John Van Vleet, PGA General Manager at Preston (Idaho) Golf Country & Club. Ben Bryson, PGA Director of Golf at BanBury Golf Course in Eagle, Idaho, earned the 4th qualifying spot in to the 2020 PGA Professional Championship.
This year’s Section Championship was contested over 36-holes at the par 72, 7,373 yard layout at the aforementioned Teton Springs Resort & Club. Fifty-six Rocky Mountain Section PGA Professionals played for four qualifying spots in to the 2020 PGA Professional Championship. The 2020 PGA PC will be contested April 26-29, 2020, at Omni Barton Creek in Austin, Texas.
