JAIME SHARP WINS 2019 ROCKY MOUNTAIN SECTION PGA HORTON SMITH AWARD
Jaime Sharp, PGA Director of Golf at The Valley Club in Hailey, Idaho, has been selected by the Rocky Mountain Section PGA as the recipient of the 2019 Horton Smith Award. The Horton Smith Award is presented to a PGA member for his outstanding contributions to professional education.
Sharp, a 14-year member of the PGA of America, reflects this commitment through seminars and clinics he has so willingly put together for the Rocky Mountain Section membership. In addition to his part in presenting the new 2019 Rules changes, Jaime has also brought a PGA Teacher of the Year and other notable instructors to our Section for presentations. Sharp is not just focused on present educational opportunities. He is already preparing for a 2-day education summit for the Spring of 2021. Sharp continues to tirelessly give his time to organize and promote various educational experiences and opportunities for the members and associates of the Section.
This honor marks the fourth occasion Sharp has earned a Section award as he was the recipient of the Merchandiser of the Year Award for Private Facilities in 2014, the 2018 Warrior Award winner, and in capping off his spectacular 2019 year, he is the Golf Professional of the Year. He will formally receive recognition as the Horton Smith Award honoree at the 2020 Rocky Mountain Section PGA Annual Meeting and Awards Presentation in May.
