John Van Vleet, PGA General Manager at Preston (Idaho) Golf & Country Club and his partner, PGA Life Member Dave Carollo from Eagle, Idaho, were not the only team to shoot 7-under-par, 65.  That fine round was good enough to share the lead with the team of Jim Empey, PGA Director of Instruction at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Boise, Idaho, with Matt Ennis, PGA General Manager at Quail Hollow.  PGA Assistant Professionals from The Valley Club in Sun Valley, Idaho, Cole Lorenz and Jacob Hanson were the third duo to fire 65 and share the top spot.  An absolutely perfect day coupled with excellent course conditions produced good scores after the better-ball of partners first round.
