RMSPGA 2018 PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

BRYSON, GRAHAM AND SOMERS ARE ROCKY MOUNTAIN SECTION PGA 2018 PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

 

Ben Bryson, PGA Head Professional at BanBury Golf Course in Eagle, Idaho, is the 2018 Player of the Year in the Rocky Mountain Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America.  This marks the fourth time Ben has earned this award having previously done so in 2012, 2014 and 2017.  Bryson earned the accolade this year with brilliant play winning both the Idaho Open and the Snake River Chapter Match Play Championship and finishing second in the RMSPGA Professional Championship.

 

RMSPGA members age 50 and older compete for Senior Player of the Year honors and the 2018 winner is John Graham, PGA Head Professional at Sand Creek Golf Course in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  John has been one of the very best players in the Section for a long time, and his perseverance and steady play finally earned him the hardware.  Graham was victorious in the Idaho Open Senior Division, the Snake River Chapter Senior Match Play Championship and had solid finishes in the Senior Section Championship and the Section Championship.

 

2018 marks the inaugural year for the RMSPGA Women’s Player of the Year Award.  Katie Somers, PGA Assistant Professional at the aforementioned BanBury Golf Course outlasted the field with her steady play in the Section Championship and the Idaho Open to be the first winner of this prestigious award.  Somers, Graham and Bryson will formally receive their Player of the Year awards in May of 2019 at the Rocky Mountain PGA Annual Meeting.
