WYOMING DRIVE, CHIP & PUTT LOCAL QUALIFIER CROWNS ITS CHAMPIONS

Wyoming’s Drive, Chip & Putt local qualifying tournament was held on August 4, 2018, at The Powder Horn in Sheridan, Wyoming.  77 children signed up for the event which included boys and girls ages 7-15, who competed in separate divisions in four age categories.  The Drive, Chip and Putt Championship will provide playing opportunities throughout all 50 states during the months of May, June, July and August.  Top performers at the local level will advance through sub-regional and regional qualifiers in July, August and September.  The top 80 performers – 40 boys and 40 girls – will earn an invitation to the National Finals at Augusta National on Sunday, April 7, the eve of the 2019 Masters.

 

All of the following players earned their way to play in the sub-regional qualifier being held at Pronghorn Ranch Golf Club in Cle Park City, Utah, on August 25th:

Girls ages 7 to 9:  Olivia Bracke, Cody, WY, Ella Hiller, Sheridan, WY and Zoey Baurer, Sheridan Wyoming

Boys ages 7 to 9:  Patrick NoRunner, St. Stephens, WY, Drew Wagner, Sheridan, WY and Porter Stender, Laramie, WY

Girls ages 10 and 11:  Keigann Watson, Lander WY, Clara Murray, Sheridan WY and Khloe Romo, Casper, WY

Boys ages 10 and 11:  Tate Nichols, Wheatland, WY, Matthew Ramshaw, Billings, MT and Griffin Stender, Laramie, WY

Girls ages 12 and 13:  Gabriella Wright, Sheridan, WY, Brynlee Birch, Cody, WY and Elizabeth Zeilstra, Sheridan, WY

Boys ages 12 and 13:  Gage Grevious, Billings, MT, Luke Schmidt, Casper, WY and Tanner Strickler, Lone Tree, Colorado

Girls ages 14 and 15:  Izzy Laird, Sheridan, WY

Boys ages 14 and 15:  Brock Owings, Sheridan, WY, Peyton Wasson, Gillette, WY and Shay Leupold, Gillette, WY

 

Players earn points hitting three drives, three chips and three putts.  The cumulative total of those nine shots determines their total score for the competition.  This local qualifier produced three qualifiers from each of the eight divisions.
