Ben Bryson, PGA Head Professional at BanBury Golf Course in Eagle, Idaho, is the 2017 Player of the Year in the Rocky Mountain Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America.  This marks the third time Ben has earned this award having previously done so in 2012 and 2014.  Bryson earned the accolade this year with season long steady play and a victory in the Snake River Chapter Championship to close out the tournament schedule.

RMSPGA members age 50 and older compete for Senior Player of the Year honors and the 2017 winner is Jim Empey, PGA Director of Instruction at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Boise, Idaho.  This is the third time Jim has been recognized as the best senior player having previously won the award in 2012 & 2013.  His three senior honors bookend nicely with the three regular division Player of the Year honors he has earned.  Empey had a truly remarkable season.  He won the Rocky Mountain PGA Section Championship, finished second in the Senior Section Championship, landed third in the Snake River Chapter Championship, and capped his season off finishing in the top 25 at the Senior PGA Professional Championship which garnered him a spot in the 2018 Senior PGA Championship.

Both Ben and Jim will receive their Player of the Year hardware in May of 2018 at the Rocky Mountain PGA annual meeting.
