JIM EMPEY HAS TWO SHOT LEAD AFTER DAY 1
EMPEY HOLDS FIRST ROUND LEAD IN 2017 ROCKY MOUNTAIN SECTION PGA PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
PGA Professional Jim Empey of Boise, Idaho, carded a first round score of 4-under-par, 68, on a day that featured a one hour weather delay and perfect conditions otherwise at Teton Pines Country Club & Resort to take a two shot lead over Travis Hofland, PGA, from Twin Falls, Idaho. Alone in third place, shooting a 1-under-par round of 71, is PGA Professional Kali Quick of Alpine, Wyo., after the first round of the 2017 Rocky Mountain PGA Professional Championship/Rocky Mountain PGA Section Championship presented by Club Car, Mercedes-Benz USA, and OMEGA.
This year’s Section Championship is being contested over 36 holes at the par 72, 7,402 yard layout at Teton Pines Country Club & Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Dates for the Championship are Tuesday & Wednesday, August 29-30, 2017. The final round begins Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m.
Forty-nine Rocky Mountain Section PGA Professionals began play vying for four qualifying spots into the 2018 PGA Professional Championship. The 2018 PGA PC will be contested June 17-20, 2018, at Bayonet Black Horse in Seaside, Calif. Four alternates will also be identified.
