TRAVERS OUTLASTS FIELD IN ASSISTANT CHAMPIONSHIP

Nick Travers of Boise, Idaho, won the National Car Rental Rocky Mountain Section Assistant PGA Professional Championship Wednesday, August 16th at Snake River Sporting Club in Jackson, Wyo.

By winning, Travers qualified for the 41st National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship, Nov. 9-12, at PGA Golf Club (Wanamaker Course) in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The facility will be hosting its twenty-second consecutive Assistant PGA Professional Championship.

Travers posted 74-76=150 on a really difficult golf course in a battle of survival.  Sean Thomsen, PGA, from Idaho Falls, Idaho, matched Travers and one extra hole decided the Championship as Travers drained a 25 footer to take the title.  Adam Dix, PGA, from Jackson, Wyo., and Justin Snelling from Boise, Idaho, tied for third, four shots behind.

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA wishes to sincerely thank PGA Head Professional Kali Quick and her willing staff from Snake River Sporting Club for their amazing hospitality and use of a truly remarkable facility.
