LOVELL EARNS 2014 YELLOWSTONE CHAPTER CHAMPIONSHIP

JOEY LOVELL WINS HIS FIRST YELLOWSTONE CHAPTER CHAMPIONSHIP

Joey Lovell, assistant professional at Black Bull in Bozeman, Mont., defined what it means to “grind out” a victory. Lovell shot hard fought rounds of 74 and 73 to capture the 2014 Rocky Mountain Section PGA Yellowstone Chapter Championship by a single shot over defending champion Kelbi Lee, PGA Head Professional at Briarwood Country Club in Billings, Mont. and 8-time champion Tom Anderson, PGA Head Professional at Laurel Golf Club in Laurel, Mont.

The Yellowstone Chapter Championship was contested September 22-23 at the 7133 yard, par 72, Yellowstone Country Club in Billings, Mont. The two-day, 36-hole championship featured five past champions from the 24-man professional field. This year’s tournament was presented by Bridgestone Golf and supported by Antigua, Maui Jim and The PGA TOUR. The Rocky Mountain Section would like to pass along sincere thanks to Gary Spinelli and Matt Seare from Bridgestone Golf and Charley Carlson from Antigua for their continued support of the event. Thanks must be passed on to Bob Eames, host PGA Director of Golf, and his Yellowstone Country Club staff for the great care and support provided to everyone.
