THOMSEN & KAVRAN LEAD AFTER DAY 1 AT PRO-PRO SHOOTOUT

LOCAL DUO THOMSEN AND KAVRAN ONE SHOT CLEAR AFTER DAY ONE OF THE 2017 TAYLORMADE-ADIDAS, ASHWORTH GOLF AND ADAMS GOLF RMSPGA PRO-PRO SHOOTOUT

 

Sean Thomsen, PGA Assistant Professional at the tournament host facility Pinecrest Golf Course in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with his partner Kevin Kavran, assistant professional at Sand Creek Golf Course, also in Idaho Falls, shot rounds of 64 and 60 to take a single shot lead over the team of PGA Head Professional Brent Fleshman of Jackpot (Nev.) Golf Club and his partner Zayne Slotten, assistant professional at Twin Falls (Idaho) Golf Course in the 2017 TaylorMade-adidas, Ashworth Golf and Adams Golf Rocky Mountain Section PGA Pro-Pro Shootout, supported by The PGA TOUR, OMEGA and Bushnell Golf.

               

In the Senior Division, Tom Anderson, PGA Head Professional at Laurel Golf Club in Laurel Mont., with his partner, PGA Director of Golf Bob Eames from Yellowstone Country Club in Billings, Mont., shot a two-round total of 11-under-par, 129 to equal the efforts of Doyle Corbett, PGA Director of Instruction at Sun Valley (Idaho) Resort and his partner PGA Teaching Professional Stoney Brown from The Valley Club, also in Sun Valley.  Alone in third place is Kevin Burton, PGA Director of Instruction at Pierce Park Greens in Boise, Idaho, and his partner Buster Whitney, PGA, from Caldwell, ID.

              

The first two rounds of the 54-hole Shootout were played on Monday, May 22nd and the formats were four-ball stroke play and scramble. The final round will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23rd and the format will be a modified alternate shot.  Forty-five two-person professional teams are competing from the Rocky Mountain Section PGA for a purse of $22,500.
